Signs & Symptoms of Anxiety and Depression
Anxiety and depression can often be difficult to diagnose, but these signs and symptoms listed below can help you determine if you are experiencing anxiety or depression.

Signs and Symptoms of Anxiety

Feeling nervous and on edge

Increased heart rate and/or breathing, sweating, shaking, shortness of breath

Increased irritability

Difficulty sleeping or concentrating

Feeling weak, tired, or dizzy

Having gastrointestinal problems (such as diarrhea, constipation, upset stomach)

Feeling panic or a sense of impending doom.

Signs and Symptoms of Depression

Sleep disturbances, unable to get to sleep or remain asleep, sleep too long or not long enough

Feeling irritable, tired, sad, or anxious most of the time

Gastrointestinal disturbances (such as diarrhea, constipation, upset stomach) that are not relieved with treatment

Appetite and weight changes

No longer interested in activities that were once of interest

Feelings of guilt, helplessness, or worthlessness

Decreased energy, pain, upset stomach, headaches, or any other symptoms that do not go away with treatment
